New Englanders are devastated at the confirmation that Tom Brady will be out for the season. I can't help but wince in pain for him every time there is a replay of that season-ending hit that left him with a torn cruciate ligament in his left knee. The New York Post responded with an appalling headline:
"Yahoo: Brady out for Year"
Come on. It's one thing the whack the competition - especially when you're New York and you're talking about the team with the most consecutive wins, ever, in a regular season. It's another to make fun of a player who is physically hurt. Tom Brady is not Michael Vick. He's not a gun-toting dog killer. He is a gentleman who brings a level of dignity to the game that the NFL definitely needs to maintain.
