Cell phone companies cheat customers by charging for a 911 call.

A friend of mine does a good turn, the right thing, in East Boston on a recent afternoon. He witnessed a traffic accident and dialled 911 from his cell phone before helping the motorists involved in the crash. He paid for it. Literally. When he recieved his cell phone bill this week. There it was: a 30 cent charge for the 911 call. Pennies, I know. But it's the point of charging someone for being a Good Samaritan. Certainly, we can all agree that cell phone companies make plenty of money hitting us with surcharges and $2.00 fees for a 411 call. The very least they could offer is free 911 service for people that find themselves in emergency situations.
